LYME DISEASE TREATMENT

Dr. Amy M. O’Donnell offers evidence-based treatment for the aches and pains associated with Lyme Disease

Relieve your chronic pain from Lyme Disease

Lyme Disease can wreak havoc on your muscles, joints and other soft tissues i.e., fascia, tendons and ligaments. Unknowingly, these tissues develop inflammation that cause pain which interferes with your daily activities and/or sleep. Sometimes the pain moves from one body part to another within days or even minutes. This can leave you exhausted and depressed. Patients find themselves treating the pain with over the counter medications such as ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) or acetaminophen (Tylenol). All of those medications may offer short term relief, but we know that long term use is deleterious to our stomach, liver and kidneys.

Dr. O'Donnell has worked with Lyme Disease doctors to help treat those aches and pains and most patients find relief. MLS Laser Therapy is especially effective in treating pain and inflammation in Lyme patients by reducing or eliminating pain in all areas of the body. She also employs soft tissue techniques with instrumented assisted soft tissue mobilization, such as Graston tools. This technique is gentle and soothing while helping to relieve pain.
